Bible Question:
In Luke 10 chapter, first verse, why were they sent out in pairs. Foxy_2914803 |
Bible Answer: Welcome to the Forum Foxy - You asked, "Why did Jesus send His disciples in pairs?" Here are some scripture references that might shed light on a possible answer. Paul reminds us of God's instruction: EVERY FACT IS TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE TESTIMONY OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES. 2 Cor. 13:1 This is from Dt 17:6 "On the evidence of two witnesses or three witnesses, he who is to die shall be put to death; he shall not be put to death on the evidence of one witness." (Who might be a witness against mankind? What evidence might this witness present? Who advocates for man? Who is our Witness?) Jesus reminds us: "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." Mt 18:20 "And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart." Ecc. 4:12 Jesus is the strand that justifies and unites believers. I hope this helps. Blessings, mommapbs |
