Bible Answer: Jesus and His earthly family were not rich. In fact, they were most likely poor. After Jesus was born, Mary brought a turtledove and pigeon instead of a lamb for her post purification burnt offering sacrifice (Luke 2:24). This was allowed for those who were could not afford a lamb.
