Bible Question: What is the Kingdom of God? |
Bible Answer: caps84, Matthew speaks of the kingdom of heaven as the Church (Matt 16:19, but the kingdom will not be fully realized until all Christ's enemies "are placed under his feet" and the King returns in glory. The kingdom is near or here in Mt 3:2; 4 ;17; 1:7; 12:28; Mk :15; 11:10; Lk 10:9, 11; 11:20; 17:20; 19:11; 21:31. At the same time we are told to pray for the arrival of the kingdon: Mt 6:10; Lk 11:2. And the kingdom is a mystery which Jesus reveals to His disciples: Mt 13:11; Mk 4:11; lK 8:10. See also Mt16:28; Mk 9:1; Lk 9:27. The kingdom is also synonymous with entrance into eternal life: Mk 9:47; 2 Peter 1:11. Emmaus |
