Bible Note: Did you really mean to infer that the Catholic interpretation of Matthew 16:17-19 enabled the Catholics Church to keep the whole Christian world captive? I hope not because that would be untrue and also a violation of the intent and purpose and rules of this forum. I think what you really meant was yes the Catholics do teach that in this passage Jesus was telling Peter that he is the rock upon which the church would be built. Then you could say however my denomination teaches there are major flaws in that view. And then go on and tell us how your denomination views this passage. There are many denominations and both Protestant and Catholics that buy and use Lockman products and use this forum. Lockman has taken the position I believe to give all a fair hearing on this forum. |
