Bible Question: why did he ask the disciples this question |
Bible Answer: The shadow of Calvary was ever increasing over the Savior head. His foot steps were taking him nearer to the place to be offer as a sacrifice. His disciples was being swayed by the thoughts of the leaders and crowds. The popular opinion was still held by the disciples. They were still held bybthese traditions of men. Christ was bringing their minds to a decided point. He was aware of what men say. They answer his question Mt.16:14 some say... But Christ wanted to direct their minds to who he really was. Above the Prophet to the very one the Prophets long to see. Who do you say I am? |
