Bible Question: How many brothers did Jesus have? |
Bible Answer: Mary and Joseph were the head of a family of at least seven childern Mt 13:55,56. According to common interpretation of Mt 13:55-56 Mary was the mother of at least 6 other children besides Jesus. Their is no scriptural basis for the cousin theory or the foster-brother theory. It is a common misinterpretation of God's design that the professed celibate priesthood has an exalted position above the common people. As for Mary's perpetual virginity Mt 1:25 states Joseph knew her not till implys unmistakable that Joseph did know her Mary. Also, Mt 1:18 states come together imlies that they did afterward come together. |
