AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 12:45 "Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and make their home there. And the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first. So will it also be with this wicked generation." |
Subject: seven other spirits |
Bible Note: Nolan: You make an excellent point. We need always to remember that in many of the parables that Jesus spoke, the application is to the nation Israel, NOT the church. In other parables the application is to the church and not to Israel. A basic principle of interpretation is that the Bible recognizes three different groups of people: 1 Cor 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: Therefore, when interpreting the scriptures one must ask the question: to whom or of whom is this verse speaking -- the Jews, the Gentiles, or the church of God? --JVH0212 "In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, and in all things charity." |
