Bible Question:
Why did Jesus at some times, after doing a miracle, not want anyone to know about what he had done, and at other times want everyone to know? For example: In Mark 5:43 Jesus gave "strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat". Yet in the previous story, when Jesus cast the demons into the pigs, Jesus told the man "Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how me has had mercy on you." |
Bible Answer: Read Matthew 12:22-32,and you will see that He was rejected by the Leaders of the Nation, up to that point He had clearly indicated to all that He was indeed their prommised Messiah. After they had rejected Him, and had even said that He was working for the Devil, He withdrew His offer, and told His disciples to tell no one who He was. That is the reason for His change of attitude to the Jewish Leaders. |
