Bible Question: I fear I have committed the unpardonable sin. I was very angry when I learned there was an unpardonable sin, against my conscience and trying my hardest to avoid speaking against the spirit I called the sacrifice of christ worthless if there was a sin that was unforgivable. I was so mad and afterwards I realized what I did I was so afraid. I cried out for forgiveness but I have had no peace since, I suffer from anxiety which only made it worse. What can I do? |
Bible Answer: Did you really commit the unpardonable sin? You called the atonement of the cross worthless. Is that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? Some people claim that by being water baptized (John 3:5) they are born again making the atonement of the cross useless. Also the same people believe that an unbloody sacrifice ritual does the same work of atonement as Jesus did on the cross are they too guilty of the unpardonable sin? ------- On a personal experience. a good friend of mine referred to the Holy Spirit the speaking in tongues calling it a name I won't mention here. The end days of his life were very sad. He wondered if he was even saved anymore. What he did concerning divorcing and remarrying two woman several times over made me wonder too,if God hadn't send him a delusion which is described in 2 Thes 2:11. Ed O. |
