Bible Question: Matthew 12:13-14 Jesus performs a miracle of healing in front of the Pharisees. In verse 14, they then begin to plot His death. If you just saw someone perform a miracle where they made someone's hand normal, wouldn't you, at the very least, suspect the person had a higher power than mere humans? I don't understand how someone(s) could plot Jesus's death considering they just saw Him perform a miracle. |
Bible Answer: Greetings chynna, Good question! First you must remember that the Pharisee' were only religious on the outside. The only thing that they were concerned about was their own agenda. When they saw Christ heal the man's hand they immediately saw him as a threat to their way of life and religious leadership. They knew that they would loose their status in the community. Isn' it interesting that men who saw healing as being a sin on the Sabbath saw no sin in plotting a murder on the Sabbath? prayon |
