AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 11:23 "And you, Capernaum, are you to be exalted to heaven [for your apathy and unresponsiveness]? You will descend to Hades (the realm of the dead); for if the miracles done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. |
Bible Question: Matthew chapter 11 speaks of Bethsadia, korazin and Capernaum, cities that reject Jesus. Jesus says of these cities that it will be worse for them on judgment day then it will be for the cities of Tyre, Sidon and Sodom. I am wondering if Bethsadia, Korazin and Capernaum were corresponding types of Tyre, Sidon and Sodom? Can anyone shed some light on that possibility and also, what were the specific sins of Tyre, Sidon and Sodom? Where were these three cities located geograpically? Chusarcik |
Bible Answer: They will be held more accountable than the Gentile cities because Jesus came to them doing mighty worksa and showing them the way of righteousness and even lived in Capernum, but they were ultimately unresponsive to his call, even though they may have accepted him briefly.
