Bible Note: Ray First I think the passage you refer to in Hebrews is Heb 2:6, is that correct? If it is the Psalm you then refer to would be Ps 8:4. If those two assumptions are right and I believe they are, then passage could be talking about Humanity "son of man" of Jesus "Son of Man". At first blush when I read it I see humanity and therefore the passage should be "son of man". After reading it over and over I can see Jesus but, I think that is still forcing the interpretation. In both Hebrews and Psalms the writer is comparing humanity to deity, or the position of man in reference to God. To Capitalize "son of man" here would bring in another completely different thought, and one I would say that is not supported by context. However the issue of the capitalization of this Heb 2:6 is sticky even the NLT offers it as an alternative. Be blessed my Brother EdB |
