Bible Question: What is the significance of the red heifer? |
Bible Answer: The significance of the red heifer was for the "The Water of Cleansing". Read and study the entire chapter of Numbers 19. The ashes from the sacrifice were kept in a ceremonially clean place outside of the camp. Some of the ashes were put in a jar and fresh water was poured over them. The Water of Cleansing was for purification from sin (See Num. 19:9). Today, as New Testament Christian believers, we believe that the red blood of Jesus Christ, the lamb of God, who was sacrificed on the cross, was shed for the purification of our sins.
