Bible Question (short): Nathanael sitting under fig tree means ? |
Question (full): In John 1:47-51 Jesus told Nathanael "I saw ou while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you" After which Nathanael declared, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God: you are the King of Israel." The question: What is the significance of Jesus seeing Nathanael under the fig tree? And why was it so powerfull that it instantly convinced Nathanael that Jesus was the Son of God? Was there some ritual or something about sitting under a fig tree? |
