Bible Note: Dear Dr. Aixen, I do not see any other passages that as clearly speak of God singing as does this one. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I do not even find any reference to angelic singing (which sort of messes up the cultural myth we have about them). Perhaps it is a unique expression of God and of His redeemed? (Just speculating.) I, too, am sometimes concerned about doctrinal error in our hymns. Hymnology is much neglected these days. Last time I complained about this, though, I got into trouble. :-) On the other hand, I watched a PBS program recently on "Amazing Grace." I never knew you could have an hour long program on a hymn like that and never define grace or even mention Jesus Christ! Sorry for digressing! Thank you for your response. In Him, Doc |
