Bible Question:
I wish to know more about the sacrifice of thanksgiving given in Lev 7 12. |
Bible Answer: Greetings songnheart! The sacrifice of thanksgiving or thanksgiving offerings in Leviticus 7:12 were given in gratitude for deliverance from sickness (Psalm 116:17), trouble (Psalm 107:22) or death (Psalm 56:12), or for a blessing received. Moreover, the sacrifice of thanksgiving was a public proclamation of who God is and what He does. A thanksgiving offering required three kinds of unleavened cakes and unleavened bread. The thanksgiving peace offering had to be eaten the same day it was offered; the vow or voluntary offerings might be eaten that day and the day following, but not left till the third day.
