AMPLIFIED 2015 | Leviticus 23:3 ¶ 'For six days work may be done, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation (calling together). You shall not do any work [on that day]; it is the Sabbath of the LORD wherever you may be. |
Bible Question:
How come christians don't keep the holy days of the lord found in Lev 23ch but will keep holloween, thanksgiving ,christmas in other word all man made holidays rather than Gods. |
Bible Answer: Leviticus 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings. Hmmm? Maybe you meant why do "catholics" celebrate these days. Most of the christians in America in conservative evangelical denominations or nondenominational churches (which are fast becoming the largest group of dedicated christians in Amerca) understand that these holidays were started by the Catholics. They do not celebrate them as a day that God has commanded them they must observe. They may use them to witness. If the world will literally stick their fingers in their ears when you talk about Jesus; but at Christmas, listen with respect or come to your church and see a presentation that presents the gospel, then by all means use the catholic invented holidays to win the Lost. God knows you are not winning any lost souls laying in bed on the sabbath. |
