Bible Question: What does the day of pentecost mean |
Bible Answer: Pentecost means fifty in Greek. It's the Feast of Weeks, or the Feast of Harvest, which is held the fiftieth day after the Feast of Unleavened Bread during the Passsover celebration. Leviticus 23: 15-17 Pentecost was the celebration of the harvest. 2 Corinthians 3:1-18: Old and New Testament Pentecost In Acts 2 was not the first Pentcost. The first was the Passover. Jesus was the Passover Lamb. 50 days later is when the Law was giving to Moses. In Exodus 23: 14-16: God commanded them to keep the Passover, Pentecost and the Feast of Ingathering (Tabernacles). |
