Bible Question:  I believe that since God's promises doesn't change, Israel is still His chosen. My pastor doesn't believe they are. He says they're a political entity far removed from God. What does this forum believe?

Bible Answer:  You are absolutely correct. The scriptures promise that David's kingdom will be established forever. They promise that God will establish Israel as the most blessed kingdom of all time. God is not finished with Israel. The very existance of Israel is a marvelous witness to the faithfullness of God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has preserved Israel through the terrorism of the Muslims, the holocaust, the diaspora - and they will always remain as a witness to the faithfulness of God. The verse below is just one example. The minor prophets are full of kingdom promises specific to Israel.

20But Judah shall abide forever, And Jerusalem from generation to generation. 21For I will acquit them of the guilt of bloodshed, whom I had not acquitted; For the LORD dwells in Zion
