Bible Question:  day of the lord

Bible Answer:  Matthew 24:36 stats "Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father." Even though we don't know when Jehovah's(God) day is, we are given instruction on what to do and what to look for to know when it is close.

At the beginning of Matthew 24 in verse 3 Jesus disciples asked what will be the sign or what should they look for as to know his coming or his presence and the end of the world. At Matthew 24:4-14, Jesus tells them what to look for. False prophets will arise, there will be global wars, food shortages and pestilences, earthquakes one place after another. In verse 14 it talks about a global preaching work that must be done and then the end will come. That preaching work about Gods Kingdom(Government)is in action today of true christians. When you look at the world do you not see all these things going on?

Matthew 24:42-44 stats "Keep on the watch, therefore, because YOU do not know on what day YOUR Lord is coming.43 “But know one thing, that if the householder had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have kept awake and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 On this account YOU too prove yourselves ready, because at an hour that YOU do not think to be it, the Son of man is coming."

God tells us to keep on the watch because that day will come as a thief. When you think of a thief he doesn't announce himself, he catches you off guard. In verse 42 it stated to "keep on the watch". One way to do that is to be involved in that global preaching work mentioned in verse 14. Telling and teaching these things is one of the best ways to keep ourselves reminded or stay alert of all the different warnings in the bible. Plus it involves our salvation Romans 10:10 Stats " For with the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation."

Another thing the bible turns are attention to regarding the days leading to the coming of the Lords Day is 2Timothy 3:1-5. It gives All the different attitudes of people that will be going during those "last Days".

I hope this gives you some clarity regarding the LORD'S DAY.
