Bible Question:
why does god want us to be thankful |
Bible Answer: Hi, odewards... Welcome to the forum! All that God does and all that He requires has to do with bringing Him glory. Gratitude to God acknowledges Him as creator and provider. It causes us to cease to be great in our own eyes. It magnifies the greatness of God. It instructs the world around us about Him. It reminds us of His many and manifold blessings. It increases our humility and cripples our self-sufficiency. It helps us to recognize our continual need for Him. It makes us to apply merit where it belongs, on the single greatest treasure: our Lord Himself. It reminds us that there is no lack or deficiency in Him, filling our empty hearts with love for Him. These are a few things that come to mind, but I do not doubt that there are many more reasons to be thankful to our God. In Him, Doc |
