NASB | Ezekiel 34:8 "As I live," declares the Lord GOD, "surely because My flock has become a prey, My flock has even become food for all the beasts of the field for lack of a shepherd, and My shepherds did not search for My flock, but rather the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock; |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ezekiel 34:8 "As I live," says the Lord GOD, "certainly because My flock has become prey, My flock has even become food for every predator of the field for lack of a shepherd, and My shepherds did not search for My flock, but rather the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock; |
Bible Question (short): Is the Lord your Shepherd or just a man? |
Question (full): Is Jesus the good shepherd? I was looking at Ezekiel today where it says that "...My flock has even become food for all the beasts of the field for lack of a *shepherd..." Verse 5 says, "And they were scattered for lack of a *shepherd, and they became food for every beast of the field and were scattered." Psalm 23:1, "The Lord is my *shepherd, I shall not want." [or LACK of any good thing] Matthew 9:36, "And seeing the multitudes, He felt compassion for them because they were distressed and downcast like sheep [not having] a *shepherd." I believe that Jesus was a good man in the sense that He was a good shepherd. But can we also say that the Lord is our Shepherd? I hope that you do. From the heart, Ray |
