AMPLIFIED 2015 | Jeremiah 36:4 ¶ Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah, and Baruch wrote on the scroll of the book all the words which Jeremiah dictated, [words] which the LORD had spoken to him. |
Bible Question: Did Baruch, Jeremiah's faithful scribe, write the entire book of Jeremiah, acting as an amanuensis (or stenographer)? |
Bible Answer: Nolan, not completely. Jer 1:2 looks like Baruch may of written the first two verses. From then on Baruch was the amanuensis, based on the verse you selected, and continues through to verse 18. He had to write another scroll (vv 28, 32). Baruch may of written the last chapter (52), based on 51:64. Steve |
