Bible Answer: Hi, Grace... In the Unitarian movement early in American history some chose cremation as a final effort to thwart their resurrection by God if their own beliefs proved errant. That might be the source of your hearing that it is an inappropriate form of burial. Nonetheless, the Scripture seems pretty clear that all humans will be resurrected, regardless of the disposition of their bodies between their death and judgment. Now, how the Lord will accomplish that -- as bodies have been burned, dissolved, vaporized, or crumbled into dust -- we do not know.
