Bible Question:
I feel that God showed me the above verse to help me through a difficult time in my life. It just seemed to jump out at me. I don't even remember reading before and I have been a Christian for many, many years. Anyway, I know what I feel God is telling me but wanted to see if I could get a clearer idea of the meaning of the verse. I have checked as many tranlations as I know about but I keep coming up with the same thing--God will allow us to participate in the fruits of our labor. It sounds too simple for me but I don't want to interpret this incorrectly. Thanks for any help! Zipitt |
Bible Answer: Hello Zippitt, Don't discount the simplicity of participating in the fruit of one's labor. Enjoying that fruit is a gift from God according to Ecclesiastes. On another track, when the Lord establishes His promised earthly kingdom (context for the verse), the works of our hands (fruits of our labors) will be much more enduring--not fleeting as they are now. They will last. Steve |
