AMPLIFIED 2015 | Isaiah 64:6 For we all have become like one who is [ceremonially] unclean [like a leper], And all our deeds of righteousness are like filthy rags; We all wither and decay like a leaf, And our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing], like the wind, takes us away [carrying us far from God's favor, toward destruction]. Bible Note: Hi Starfire, I'd like to add at this point that there really is no indication that Eve had children before the fall. The indication from Romans 5, describing the imputation of sin, would argue that only Adam and Eve existed at that time, as Adam went on to pass his fallen nature to their progeny. On the other hand, we can only speculate about what knowledge of their humananity God say fit to impart to Adam and Eve. He may have given Eve the understanding of what would happen to her. We really don't know. I think you and Bows44 have brought some intresting insights to this passage. I would like to extend a (somewhat belated) welcome to the forum! :-) Love in Christ, Mark |
