Bible Note: Greetings Ck1! I'm very sorry to hear about your son my friend! I know what it is like to lose a son, though I lost mine through illness. I would recommend finding someone to talk and pray with about your loss - maybe your pastor! Dealing with grief takes time. I know when I lost my son that it took a year before things "felt right" again. It was like I had woken up from a dream. There is no easy answer, but the good news is that you don't have to 'do it'. God will provide. But, I would encourage you to stay in His word. Keep in prayer. Continue to fellowship with Christian brothers and sisters. Work in your church and don't be hesitant to share what you are going through with someone. That something "missing" that you are feeling is a normal part of grief, but the feeling will decrease over time. There will always be something missing after losing a loved one, but the feeling will not be as intense after time. 1 Cor. 16:24 assures us that God will see us through the difficult times. I'm sure that you will be in the prayers of many of this forum! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
