Bible Question:
I was on a forum talking about God when he asked me some questions I couls not answer... I will post the convo below: Him: The New Testament was added to the Old Testament, what does that say about it's authors? Me: It says that God sent someone to saves us...Jesus! AMEN! Him: Yes, which contradicts what the Old Testament says about it ,NOTHING! There is a passage about a savior, but that prophesy supposedly came true in the Old Testament, and has nothing to do with Jesus. Your savior is a fabrication, and the people who wrote about him can't even get their facts straight among them. Paul knew nothing of a man named Jesus, only a spirit. The rest of the gospels can't agree on his birth parents, either human or divine. The day, he died, who was at his grave, how long he was dead, etc. are all different. Not to mention his death causing the dead to rise, a fact that is for some reason left out of local history of the time period. If someone could help me answer this ASAP I would Greatly appreciate it! Thank you!!!-MLove |
Bible Answer: Jesus unheard in the old testament!? Give your interlocutor some advice: READ THE OLD TESTAMENT FOR A CHANGE! Even His name is written in various places of the original: for example Ex 15:2 Ask him a riddle: said he would reign, despised by his brethern, sold for some pieces of silver, the gentiles bowed their knees before him, his brethern suffered when they saw him again, ended up recognizing him, sent for salvation, his brethern bowed their knees before him, who is he? Ask him another one offered by his father, offered as a sacrifice suffered death without complaining, who is he? Of course the answers are Josef and Isaac, but they do really look like Jesus. Clear message don't you think Who is emmanuel mentioned in Isaiah 7:14 Who is the Baby mentioned in isaiah 9:6 Who is the person injured in Micah 5:1 who is the person borned in Bethlehem? Micah 5:2 Who is the person described in isaiah 53, and don't let him come up with the story that this chapter mnetions Israel. If israel has a characteristic it is that their hearts are hard Ex. 33:3, Deut 9:6 Who was sold for 30 pieces of silver Zach. 11:12 No wonder they will weep when they recognize jesus so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn. |
