AMPLIFIED 2015 | Isaiah 53:2 For He [the Servant of God] grew up before Him like a tender shoot (plant), And like a root out of dry ground; He has no stately form or majestic splendor That we would look at Him, Nor [handsome] appearance that we would be attracted to Him. |
Bible Question: Where in the Bible does it say how Jesus really looked like? |
Bible Answer: Dominic The only verse that I could think of that gives any hint of Jesus appearance is this one. Isa 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. The only other place I found any description of Jesus appearance was in the non-Bibical works of Flavius Josephus, who was an early historian, that may have possibly seen Jesus personally.
