Bible Question:
I've been a christian now for the pass 10 years and ever since i've been struggling with this problem. What if you are a christian and kept on committing the same sin over and over again even when you kept praying about it and asking the Lord for forgiveness |
Bible Answer: Greetings Annov2! It was very brave of you to admit that you need help in this area of your life. There are no easy answers, but I would recommend a two-fold approach. 1) Trust in the promises of God. 1 John 1:9 makes it very clear that not only does God forgive us when we sin, but He also cleanses us from all unrighteousness. You can nuture this promise in your life by: a) Filling your heart and mind with God's Word - Ps. 119:11. b) Saturating your life with prayer. c) Avoiding circumstances that will lead you into temptation. 2) Become accountable to someone. Let your pastor or a close friend in the Lord know about your struggle. Let them help you by making you accountable. It is much easier to avoid temptation and sin if you know that someone is going to ask you how you are doing in that area of your life. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
