NASB | Isaiah 40:31 Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait for the LORD [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired. [Heb 12:1-3] |
Subject: Learning to Wait |
Bible Note: Faith is a fixed disposition of the mind. The ability to wait for and hope in the Lord comes from this fixed disposition. Faith is strengthened as we see the Lord in action, read His word and feed on the food He has provided. We fly highest when we trust in God alone and sink lowest when we rely on our own efforts of the efforts of men. We begin to worry when we look away...worry about selfish things, me, my and mine. When faith falters, worry exaults and the devil dances in our head and heart. Lord, keep us strong. Set our face to seek You alone...teach us Lord to wait. |
