Bible Question: WHERE IS IT FOUND THAT MEN ATE THEIR DUNG AND DRINK THERE PISS. |
Bible Answer: Portiad: Isaiah 36:12, as Emmaus has already answered. Lest you be questioned for using a word that some may view as obscene, I'd like to point out to those not familiar with the King James Version that the word "piss" does indeed appear in this verse and elsewhere. The KJV translators weren't trying to be cute or shocking in their use of this word. While it's considered a vulgarism in today's English, it was no more offensive to the Elizabethan ear than urine is to ours. It is indicative of how dynamically our language has changed in four centuries. When the King James is read aloud, Exodus 20:17 and Isaiah 36:12 are two verses that can be counted on to wake up the nodding congregation :-) It is not only the words ass (donkey) and piss (urine) that have been vulgarized. Look at what has happened to the once happy little word "gay." It has been corrupted and is now used to describe a sexual perversion. It is no longer gay. --Hank |
