Bible Note: Greetings Jibbs! Your doing better than I am then! I usually have to hear things a couple of times! ;-) Everything is just about moved. I plan on finishing today, so I'll have to make this brief. To keep things simple, let's continue with the gift analogy. Let's suppose that you are absolutely broke. So, I offer you a gift in the form of a check for 1 million dollars (don't get your hopes up, in reality I'm broke too! :-) ). However, you refuse to accept the check. You refuse to cash the check. Therefore, your still broke, even though there is a check waiting for you worth 1 million dollars. I see the gift of salvation in the same way. Christ died for every sin of every person on the cross. He offers us salvation as a gift, but if we don't accept it, it does us no good. This gift analogy actually is found in the Bible. Try Rom. 5-6! Especially note Rom. 5:17 where Paul talks about the benefit of this gift for those who 'receive' it. Well, back to work! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
