Bible Question: What does the bible say about "come as you are?" |
Bible Answer: Isaiah 1:18 - Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. This term of words "come as you are"-- is used to call people to respond to the Gospel. -1- that your sins are forgiven because of the Blood of the Lamb 'Jesus.' -2- You are delivered from death beacuse Jesus died as the perfect substitutional death for us 'the seed of Adam' so we are now free to live "In CHRIST" the new life. -3- By reckoning ourself dead to sin we can present ourselves as living sacrifices to be obediant to the call to serve God in ministry. -4- Finally, by walking in the Spirit the Holy Spirit will renew our minds and in doing so we will walk in the light yeilding fruit that was not possible for the man without faith. Only by faith can a man please God. Just a note too, when you are walking in the Spirit you will know you are and it will because you have surrendered "self" died to the Old man. Being Godly is like breathing. You just live it. In Christ Michael |
