Bible Question: Does anyone know about the Rosa Sharon tree and what it symbolizes? I have heard that it is a symbol of Christ. I have something strange and miraculous in my back yard. Thank you.

Bible Answer: Greetings unbridledwinds, The rose of Sharon and the lily of the valley are flowers found in Israel. "Rose of sharon" refers not to the rose but to the asphodel (genus Asphodel of the lily family) or some other flower. Roses were known in Palestine after the OT period and are refered to at sir. It is believed by some that the 'rose of sharon' may be a crocus but it is more likely that it is the meadow saffron which resembles the crocus.
