Bible Question: I think the scripture has something to do with new Christians being too sensive or easily hurt... thin-skinned? I need to know what I read and where. Maybe that'll help me remember when. I'm post-stroke. |
Bible Answer: Not sure the scriptures speak specifically with those words, but it's clear that the meaning of being too thin-skinned is portrayed in the Bible in a demonstrative manner: (From the amplified Bible) Eccl 7:9 "Do not be quick in spirit to be angry or vexed, for anger and vexation lodge in the bosom of fools." The NT bears witness to this same thought: James 1:19 Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry. James 1:20 For man's anger does not promote the righteousness God [wishes and requires]. |
