Bible Question: Explain: "He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh a hedge, a serpent shall bite him. |
Bible Answer: Clem4567 I thought I did explain it with the quote from The Spirit Filled Life Bible. The one who plots evil will eventually feel its effects. Spirit Filled Life Study Bible, ed. Jack W. Hayford, electronic ed. (Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson, 1997), Ec 10:8 What it means is if we set a trap (dig a pit) we will eventually fall into the trap ourselves. If we try to destroy someone's defenses (break down a hedge or wall) our wickedness will often lead us to destruction. |
