AMPLIFIED 2015 | Proverbs 30:4 Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son's name? Certainly you know! [John 3:13; Rev 19:12] |
Bible Question: What does this mean, as I have a friend who is saying that this is proof that Christ was made in heaven before His human existance? |
Bible Answer: Cheryllou, He was not made in Heaven. In John 1:1 we see Jesus was "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ... (vs 14) And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth." In Isaiah 9:6, the Messiah (Jesus Christ) is called: "Mighty God" and "Eternal Father." He is God from all eternity not created. In Psalm 90:2 (compared with Col. 1:16) Jesus Christ is called the "everlasting to everlasting" creator. He cannot be "everlasting to everlasting" if He was created. In Exodus 3:14-17 (compared with 1 Cor. 10:1-5 and John 8:58) Jesus Christ calls Himself the "I am" "God." Particularly evident in the Hebrew text, "I am" means to "exist" not be created. Steve |
