Bible Question (short): Does "find" assume the man is "looking?"

Question (full): Does the word "find" in this verse assume that the man is actively "looking" for a wife? I am finding that many churches in my area are teaching that it is wrong to seek out a Christian mate and that one should completely focus on the Lord and He will "send" a mate to you if that is His will. Assuming that Christians would conduct themselves according to the Bible and with prayer, is it against God's will for us to seek a Christian mate?
