Bible Note: Hi charlesandde, Welcome to the forum. I agree with your post and I would submit to you that the Scriptures say that all things, (everything) was made for His purpose. Proverbs 16:4, "The Lord has made everything for its [marginal note, Or His] own purpose." Proverbs 16:4, NKJ, "The Lord has made everything for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom." How much do you see God making "even his enemies to be at peace with him"? I see Romans 8:28 as an interesting comparison/contrast to Proverbs 16:4. Romans 8:28, "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to (His) purpose." My interpretation of choice for Proverbs 4 is: Proverbs 4:3, "Commit your works to the Lord, And your plans will be established. 4 The Lord has made everything for (His) own purpose." The parentheses are mine for comparison/contrast. I agree with you that God is in control. And He knows our motives/spirits. See NKJ, and NASB with marginal note, for Proverbs 16:2.
