AMPLIFIED 2015 | Proverbs 1:7 ¶ The [reverent] fear of the LORD [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; But arrogant fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline. Bible Question: What is wisdom? |
Bible Answer: Hello strappvd, In Prov. 1:2, we're instructed, "To know wisdom and instruction, To discern the sayings of understanding," Also, Prov 1:7 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction." (NASB) There can be much said as your question is very broad. Knowing the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The Book of Proverbs contains much about it (hence it's referred to as Wisdom literature).
