Subject:  Scriptures on the spirit of Apathy?

Bible Note:  Greetings this Lord's Day! Do read 2 Peter 1:1-9 and especially focus here - "For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having FORGOTTEN (emp mine) his purification from his former sins." v9

Does our apathy arise from our lack of focus on the finished work of Christ? Think about how we might drift away from this . . .certainly satan does not want us to realize the power that is at work in us, so he cleverly deceives us to believe lies about ourself, tempting us to focus on past failures or disappointments as a means to measure our self worth. All this being said, consider how we often respond - by trying harder! But self-effort is no more than wood, hay or straw in the economy of eternity! (See 1 Cor 3:9-23)

Blessings,
