AMPLIFIED 2015 | Exodus 40:35 Moses was not able to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud remained on it, and the glory and brilliance of the LORD filled the tabernacle. |
Bible Question: This (Ex 40:35)is a recurring statement several times in the old testement (not being able to enter the tabernacle because "the glory of the Lord filled the tabenacle") (2Chr 7:2 / 1Kin 8:11) Is this a physical thing, ie the smoke, or is it a law of god ie. not being allowed to see his face. Also give me your opinion on how that relates to churches today when we say "our church is filled with the glory of the Lord." God's blessings to you.. Jan |
Bible Answer: The Holy of Most Holy Place within the tabernacle (where God resided)was forbidden to all but the priest, who had to go through the ceremony of being consecrated before they could even be allowed in. See Leviticus 8.Moses consecrated the tabernacle and everything in it by sprinkling them with the anointing oil. Moses also poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head to consecrate him. The purpose of these anointings was to set apart the tabernacle, the various furnishings, and the priest who ministered in the sanctuary as most holy to the Lord. I hope this answers the first part of your question. The second part, I think refers to the Holy Spirit, living within us, God's pleasure with us. |
