Bible Question:
IS THERE ANY THING IN THE BIBLE ABOUT PEOPLE WHO HAVE WEBBED FEET BEING EVIL? SOMEONE ASKED ME BUT I'VE NEVER HEARD OF IT. |
Bible Answer: Hi, Michelle... Welcome to the forum! Although God in His providence manages all such things -- since there is not a single molecule in the universe over which He does not exercise control -- the Scripture never says that people afflicted by various maladies or deformities are consequently more evil than other people. Instead, the Scripture states that all humanity share in an evil, fallen nature (John 3:19; Romans 3:10-12, 23; 7:18, 23). In the Law of Moses, people with deformities were not permitted to serve in the Tabernacle (Leviticus 21:17-23). However, this was to signify the perfection required of God, and ultimately embodied in the perfect High Priest, Christ Jesus (Hebrews 7:26). It is possible that whoever you were talking to had misunderstood the passage in Leviticus as suggesting that such men were morally less qualified than others. In Him, Doc |
