AMPLIFIED 2015 | Exodus 33:19 And God said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the Name of the LORD before you; for I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion (lovingkindness) on whom I will show compassion." [Rom 9:15, 16] |
Bible Question: Can someone please explain why in Malachi 1: v1-3, why did God hate Esau? |
Bible Answer: God dispenses grace according to His eternal purpose. Not based on any merits of the people who benefit, but rather out of the goodness of God's sovereign pleasure, such that, in the end, it will bring God alone glory. Some grace is despensed commonly to all men. Things like the air, rain, order, etc. Even the unjust benefit from these things. However the gift of Christ Himself comes to sinful men, not in proportion to their deserts, but according to how He has appointed them, not unto wrath, but unto salvation. (See Romans 9:11.) |
