AMPLIFIED 2015 | Exodus 22:9 "For every offense involving property, whether it concerns ox, donkey, sheep, clothing, or any piece of lost property, which another identifies as his, the case of both parties shall come before the judges [who act in God's name]. Bible Question: My question concerns a Christian that has wandered away from a Godly life and entered into an addiction with Gambling. They got their self in so deep that they stole money from the illegal place that they were gambling from. It was a private store, that had a particular place that they put the payoff money. My question is, how does this person make restitution for this, or is God's forgiveness enough? Please Help. This person is in great torment. |
Bible Answer: Ammi, My answer is this. If he intends to make restitution in this case he should do it very carefully and completely anonymously or his life may be in danger. You are not talking about the YMCA here and absolution is not likely to be forthcoming from the criminals to whom he is making restitution. If every there was a time to "be as wise a serpent and as innocent as a dove" this would be one. Just a little practical advice from someone who has worked the mean streets as a cop and who had friends that I grew up with do hard time. Emmaus |
