Bible Answer: Q1. Are Christians obligated to keep the Sabbath—the Sabbath of Old Testament Judaism? Answer: Christ taught us how to keep the sabbath in a right way: Lu 14:3 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? Aside from that if the Christian will keep the sabbath exactly the same with moses, it will create a trimendous problem in our society today. I magine if the doctor will not do any duty in the day of sabbath? Imagine if there is no flight, car, drug outlet, hospitals are close! do you imagine how difficult it is? If we remember that going out in the day of sabbath is punisheable by death. u 15:33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. Nu 15:36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses. There is no way it will fit with the teaching of Christ! Answer: In the first place sabbath is not for Christian, it is not for us! De 5:3 The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.
