Bible Note: There was a huge difference in the way Jesus dealt with the money changers in the temple and the religious leaders than the way he acted toward the woman at the well, the adulteress who was about to be stoned and Zachaeus. He told the woman, "neither do I condemn you." John 3:17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. I was not offended by Blue eyes or the others who posted, but I was afraid the woman who asked the question might be. Writing in caps is shouting on the internet, so when people capitalize words like "sin," "only," "God" and "Bible" in a reply it appears they are yelling. As Christians we are supposed to speak the truth in love, not beat people about the head and shoulders with our Bibles. I am new to this forum, but I do not think it would be a good idea to scare people away who are sincerely asking questions. When I joined I read the quidelines for posting. The two things that stood out were not to be harsh and not to give short, incomplete answers. You said: "It looks very much like He is yelling. And, it looks like He is condemning." If that is true then is John 3:17 a lie? |
