Bible Question: Since its the weekend, What are some verses to show God's since of humor? |
Bible Answer: Darcy - Banking business was carried on in Old Testament times. In ancient Egypt Pharaoh's daughter went to the Bank of the Nile and instructed her maid to draw out a little prophet. For many years after that, as Moses grew up, he became well known and drew a great deal of interest from the Egyptians, especially the day he bumped off one of the Egyptians and hid him in the sand. (Ex. 2:12). After that things got a little uncomfortable for Moses in Egypt, so he left and went into the stock market in Midian with his father-in-law Jethro. (Ex 3:5). It is reported, though not very reliably, that Jethro eventually teamed up with Gomer and they became a singing team known as Gomer and Jethro (also known as Homer and Jethro). --Hank |
