Bible Question: No, the bible clearly states that there were two wives, one was Zipporah and the other a cushite woman, in which Mariann had a problem with her being her sister-in-law. What was the cushite woman's name and were there any children? |
Bible Answer: Hello Deona, All we know is this: Numbers 12:1 (ESV) Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married, for he had married a Cushite woman. One possibility is that Moses married a Cushite woman while living in Pharaoh's house before he fled for his life. Another possibility is that "Cushite" was being used instead of "Midianite," and the complaint was against Zipporah. Thirdly, it's possible Moses married a Cushite woman in the wanderings. There are difficulties with all three views, but I think the first is the most probable solution. Steve |
